3 Principles of Success

3 Principles of Success

Although I feel that 360 Services has a long way to go before we can be described as successful, I strongly believe that we are on our way. Yes, 360 Services has had the distinction of receiving numerous awards and nominations but awards are not what define success. People constantly ask, “what’s the secret?” and “how is that possible?” It is simple: work HARD and follow three distinct principles.

  1. Act As If
  2. Never Waste Time
  3. Employees First

  1. Act As If
    1. Act As If is a way of life and a mindset. You need to always “act as if” you are the best in your field. You need to “act as if” you will be successful. People gravitate to people that they perceive as successful, trustworthy, and talented. Be that person. Never settle and never let down your guard. If you want to be the best or the biggest then act like it. Soon you will start believing it and it will happen!
  2. Never Waste Time
    1. People often ask me how I have gotten to where I am. The truth? I don’t waste time on non-productive activities. I block every possible second of my day and never waste my time doing something that has no value. It is the little things that make a big difference when it comes to this principle. I don’t watch too much TV, I don’t procrastinate big projects, I don’t take naps, I don’t sleep in, I don’t show up to work and leave without accomplishing something great, and so on. You must treasure each and every moment you have. Time is the only thing that you can never have back, no matter what. Don’t wake up a year from now and wish you would have started a habit earlier, saved a few dollars a week, ate right or worked out. Once a second ticks by it is gone forever…
  3. Employees First
    1. Put your people first. Stand by them, empower them, and encourage them. You are on their team. A happy employee guarantees a happy customer. You must create a positive culture that allows for positive, happy people. I have always said, if you are not happy at work then you are not happy at home and if you are not happy at home you are not happy at work. I believe that happiness starts at the place you spend the most time: work!

Believe in yourself and never give up. Remember, today is already the tomorrow you worried about yesterday! Stand out and always outwork everyone else. When others are sleeping, you are working. When others are wasting time, you are improving. Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “When you’re out there partying, horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard. Someone is getting smarter and someone is winning. Just remember that. If you want to win, there is absolutely no way around hard, hard work. No rules of success will work unless you do.” For more on Arnold’s 6 rules of success watch below:
